ROTTERDAM – Five Antilleans are suspected of involvement in the murder of the then 20-year-old Roncherello Ellis, on October 11 last year in the Schiltmanstraat in Rotterdam-Bloemhof. The suspects are: Jadirlon I. (24), Zakarias O. (21), Demelzo T. (21), Shandro F. (17), Surendy T. (19) and Vyalis R. (23). The Public Prosecution Service (OM) sees Surendy T. as the main suspect.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, T. shot a bullet through Ellis’s back with a firearm, as a result of which the victim died.
The murder weapon – a pistol of the caliber 9mm Parabellum, brand Ceska Zbrojovka, being a firearm suitable for automatic firing – has already been shot at a car with three more intended victims.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the suspects drove one or more laps through the Bloemhof district that evening in a Skoda, while they were chased by a Volkswagen containing Ellis. T. was contacted by telephone and instructed to come to Schiltmanstraat, the later crime scene, and to take a firearm with him. https://www.stmaartennews.org
Shots are heard in Schiltmanstraat just before 10:30 pm, during which witnesses see a car drive away. Not much later, a seriously injured Ellis is taken to a nearby hospital, who dies shortly after arriving at the hospital. The same evening and night, officers start an extensive trace investigation in the area of Schiltmanstraat and speak with witnesses. The car that took the victim to the hospital is impounded. The occupants of the car were heard as witnesses.
